As recently as 1900, we were one diocese.

  • Diocese of Pennsylvania – 1785
  • Diocese of Pittsburgh – 1866
  • Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania – 1910
  • Diocese of Central Pennsylvania – 1870
  • Diocese of Central Pennsylvania and Harrisburg – 1904
  • Central Pennsylvania adopts Bethlehem name – 1909
  • Harrisburg reclaims Central Pennsylvania name – 1971
